Farbenmix Feliz Dress!

Well the thermometer has been in the low 90's for most of the day here today, and what have I been doing?
That's right, boys and girls...I've been sewing a Feliz!
I started about 9.30am this morning, and finished it around 5.30pm this evening - I didn't even stop for lunch lol! (Ok, so I stopped and made Jamie some.....)

I'm so pleased with it, especially considering it's my first one and I don't generally 'do' patterns - I just hope the little lady I made it for likes it too! (I know her Mum does ha ha). The more I look at it, the more I think it has a touch of Alice in Wonderland about it lol!

So anyway...pics...

Thanks for looking - lets hope it's a bit cooler tomorrow!

Lots to share today!

Firstly, a couple of bags I've made this week - one for my friend Nikki, and a new larger version of my 'Romance pattern.

This is Nikki's bag - I love the fabrics she chose for it!
and now my 'Big Romance' bag...the yellow fabric is some vintage cotton I was given by my friend Emma (thank you!) after I admired something she had made from some of it! What a sweetie she is!

and here it is next to the original 'Romance' bag so you can see how much bigger it is!

and now you can get the patterns too! Just click the link to download the PDF files for both bags!
You can use the pattern to make bags for yourself, or to sell (as long as they're not mass produced) - and DON'T sell the patterns, or claim them as your own. I will find out, okay? lol!

In the next few days, I'll be adding a picture tutorial in case you need one lol!
I hope you enjoy the patterns - feel free to share any that you make with me either here or on Facebook - I'd love to see them!

And next, do you remember this bag I made a while back?
Well it's been sitting on my shelf, and when I saw an appeal on Facebook asking for donations for a charity tombola for Cornwall's Fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House, Bristol, I thought it would be perfect!
So it's now on it's way to Cornwall - I hope it helps them raise lots of money!

Day Out with Thomas...

Yesterday we had a day that was ALL about Jamie. (Like there's any that aren't lol!)
We took him to Colne Valley Railway's Day Out With Thomas - and we all had a great day!
We had a ride on Thomas, and on Daisy, and on a miniature railway too, and saw lots of Thomas' other friends as well...went in the signal box, saw the Fat Controller Sir Topham Hatt...and it didn't rain! Yay!
Here are a few photos of the day I thought I'd share with you...

The steam organ that was playing 2 Thomas theme tunes. ALL. DAY.
Jamie and Daddy - Jamie wasn't sure about the steam organ (it was VERY loud and kept making him jump!)

and last but definitely not least - THOMAS!
It really was a fun day, and I would recommend it if you have a Thomas fan in your house!

Cath Kidston again......

I know, I know.....but I finally got some time to make up the bag kit that came with my 'Sew!' book!

I'm not too keen on the unlined look, so I changed it up a little and added a lining - and not blowing my own trumpet at all, but I think it looks rather good! I think the red gingham works pretty well, don't you?

It does help that it's already all cut and marked out for you - all you have to do is sew it up.

What I've been up to!

Other than being engrossed in my Cath Kidston book, I mean......

I self drafted a new bag pattern - the Daydreamer!

Ta-dah!

It was inspired by a friend of mine asking me to make her a deeper handbag for her to take on holiday - and this is what I came up with! I'm glad to say she was very happy with it.

And another bag.....this one for my little guy! He's been crazing me for ages to make him a bag - he keeps seeing me make all these others, bless him - so I decided now was the time. We're off to Colne Valley Railway's Day Out With Thomas on Saturday, so I decided it would be good for him to have a Thomas backpack to put his drink, snacks and goodies in while we are there.
I used the toddler backpack pattern from Indietutes which is fab! I downsized it a bit from the actual pdf as I think it would have been too big - but this size is perfect for him!
He liked it so much he sat clutching it all the way through lunch - and has been planning what to put in it all afternoon lol!

Cath Kidston goodness....

arrived on my doorstep this morning in the shape of her amazing 'Sew!' book!

See all that beautiful fabric? I can't wait to get started making the bag!

But in the meantime, I thought I'd share a few peeks at what delights await me inside the cover......

I have a feeling I shall be making quite a few of these projects!

Thanks for looking.
